Creating Confidence in ChildbirthLisa Bache is a Certified Childbirth Educator with Lamaze International and with the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA). She is a Certified Doula with DONA International. Lisa also holds a Lamaze Breastfeeding Support Specialist certificate. She earned degrees from Centre College and Middlebury College.  The Womb Service series of childbirth classes is based on the Lamaze philosophy of childbirth and parenting. Lisas goal is for each class participant to gain confidence in the birth process.  Lamaze International has a rich history of preparing women for childbirth. In the past several years, Lamaze has updated its philosophy from a breathing method to an all-encompassing philosophy.   The Lamaze philosophy recognizes that a womans inner wisdom guides her through her unique labor and birth experience. Therefore, class participants learn a variety of coping techniques and strategies to give them more choices in labor. These techniques work in harmony with positioning and encouragement from the labor support team. As part of the labor support team, fathers and other family members learn effective ways to comfort and encourage mothers. Expectant parents also become familiar with the local birth options. As part of the Lamaze philosophy of parenting, the Womb Service classes cover numerous ways to facilitate the intimate connection between the new parents and their baby. Breastfeeding, newborn care, and ways to bond with baby are an integral portion of Lisas series.
