An eco-friendly home that is completely off-grid. The home is the first of its kind to meet Florida's stringent building codes. It captures and stores rainwater for all water use, greywater is recycled inside the home through a constructed wetland where it is then reused for toilet flushing. Blackwater is processed and reused through an exterior constructed wetland where the subsequent plants are used for fuel production. There is no active air conditioning to keep this home comfortable in Florida's hot climate. The project is open to volunteers, interns, homeowners, and building professionals interested in learning more. A series of workshops on Permaculture Design and sustainability are being hosted throughout the project.
