Benefits of CSA Programs

Here at Custom Gardens Organic Produce Farm, we run a CSA program with increasing interest from our community.

In fact, it is one of small scale agriculture's fastest growing niche markets. 

A Community Supported Agriculture farm, like us, will directly serve our community or our group of customers families. Our members would purchase shares in the weekly harvest on an annual basis - hence, committing to the farm early in the year. 

This CSA arrangement is beneficial to both farms and the people they serve.

The farmer benefits by having all or a part of their operating funds, up front. This will allow for planning, ordering seeds and supplies. It also includes planting and production to proceed, knowing that the market for the farm's produce has been secured. 

The best thing is that the consumer benefits as well. Members will receive a diverse supply of fresh, organic, local produce. For the customer, the decision to participate in a CSA program greatly decreases the distance between their food and the person who grows it. 

The fantastic thing is that there will be no more guessing where or how your fresh food supply is produced. By joining a CSA, it encourages sustainable agriculture and further environmental health than any other consumer action.
