The EPA have even determined that chemicals in common household cleaners often disperse fumes three times more likely to cause cancer than other air pollutants. 

So we've made a list of chemicals that you should look for on your labels:

The first one is Sodium hypochlorite in chlorine bleach. If they re mixed with ammonia, it releases toxic chloramine gas. Short-term exposure may cause mild asthmatic symptoms or more serious respiratory problems.

Ammonia is another one to look out for as it is an eye irritant. Exposure can also cause headaches and lung irritation.

Phenol and cresol are corrosives that are often used and found in disinfectants. They can cause diarrhoea, fainting, dizziness, and kidney and liver damage.

Nitrobenzene is found in furniture and floor polishes. They can cause skin discolouration, shallow breathing, vomiting, and death. They are also associated with cancer and birth defects.
