Here at My Mother’s Garden, we are a family-owned certified Organic Farm located in Florida. We offer a large range of seasonal fresh culinary herbs, salad greens, edible flowers and native plants.
We also feature grass-fed Murray Grey cattle and Tamworth and Berkshire hogs naturally - all raised naturally and humanely with no hormones, antibiotics or animal by-products.
We also have pasture, in movable coops, are flocks feee range hens which give us fresh brown and green farm eggs - great tasting and nutritious.
One of our favourite things to make that features our free range eggs is our famous Key Lime Pie. This pie works best on good quality eggs - we recommend free range.
The ingredients include: 6 egg yolks, slightly beaten, one 15oz. can sweetened condensed milk, half a cup of Key Lime juice, 6 egg whites and 5 tbsp. of sugar - organic raw sugar is the best.
The steps are relatively easy. Start by mixing together egg yolks and condensed milk. When they become pale and creamy in colour, stir in lime juice.
Spoon the mixture into a pie shell. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and gradually add the sugar - one tablespoon at a time.
Top the pie with the egg white meringue and bake it in a 325 degree oven until meringue is golden.
