Although the holidays are the best times of the year for parties and relaxation, they are also the worst when it comes to eating.
Here, we have three simple tips for healthy eating during the holidays - whilst enjoying yourself as well.
The first tip is - don't go to that party hungry. Of course, we've all done this before and unfortunately, by going to a party hungry, you're more likely to make poor choices when your hunger is your motivation - especially with festive food around you.
Another tip is not to skip breakfast before Christmas dinner. Many people will eat light early in the day to save room for the holiday feast. But it's much better and healthier to have a good, healthy, filling breakfast that morning. You'll definitely still be hungry at dinner and will enjoy the meal - so don't worry about that. But you won't be able gorge yourself too much.
The final tip is to take the focus off the food. Try talking to people more and socialising, playing games and participate in activies that aren't 100% food focused.
