Probably one of the biggest news in the Alternative Energy section - in Solar Power - is that Alta Devices Solar Panel had received a NREL Verification Of 23.5% Efficiency in their lastest product. 

Their most recent solar panel has been verified at 23.5% efficiency. To this day, this is the highest solar panel efficiency achieved. 

This new panel uses the technology that is a result of key technical breakthroughs in obtaining the high efficiency of gallium arsenide in cost–effective methods. It also focuses on GaAs because of its intrinsic efficiency advantages and its ability to generate energy at high temperatures and in low light.
