Permaculture is defined as the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive ecosystems. These tend to feature the the diversity, stability and resilience of natural ecosystems.

It is a environmentally friendly integration of landscape and people as it provides their food, energy, shelter, along with other material and non-material needs in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. 

The aim of permaculture is essential to provide for a ‘permanent’ ‘culture’ for the world.

As a design system, permaculture contains no new concepts that are are not familiar with. It simply arranges materials, resources, and methods in a creative and productive way. This ensures that the overall system conserves energy or generates more energy than it consumes.
