In Stonebridge’s first fifteen years, we’ve been through the remarkable extent to which our community's formation can be based on food production.
When it comes to community supported Agriculture - otherwise known as CSA, many individuals and families would buy weekly shares of the produce as farm members. These groups would share the costs of farming, as well as the bounty the land.
This is based on our community's need and desire for fresh, farm-based vegetables and herbs. This also includes food security in the form of local access to organic, non-genetically modified, and seasonal produce, an access that is predicated on the continued maintenance of agrarian land.
With the concept of CSAs, communities would support local markets and land stays in food production, helping us move toward greater self-sustainability both financially and environmentally.
